This policy explains what information MakeMyQuiz collects, why we collect it, and how it's used and protected.
1. Information We Collect
- Account details: name, email address, and/or mobile number.
- Exam activity: your test attempts, selected answers, scores, timing, and integrity-related events (such as tab switches or full-screen exits) recorded during a test.
- Payment records: which Test Batch you purchased, the amount, and the date. Your card, UPI, or bank details themselves are handled directly by our payment gateway provider — we do not receive or store your card/bank details on our servers.
2. How We Use Your Information
- To create and manage your account, and let you log in securely;
- To send transactional emails — password reset links, email verification, and (for teachers) invite links — via our email provider, Resend;
- To generate your test results, performance reports, and rankings;
- To activate and manage your Test Batch access after a purchase;
- To review flagged exam attempts as part of maintaining fair use, per our Terms & Conditions.
3. Sharing of Information
We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We share information only where necessary to run the platform:
- With our payment gateway provider (e.g. Razorpay), solely to process your Test Batch payment;
- With our transactional email provider (Resend), solely to deliver account-related emails;
- Within our own team (admins/teachers at your institute), for the exam-review and support purposes described above.
4. Data Retention
- Your account data is retained for as long as your account remains active.
- If your account is deactivated, your data (including past test attempts and payment history) is retained for our records, as described in our Terms.
- If your account is permanently deleted (at your request or an admin's), your personal data is removed in line with our internal deletion process — except where we're required to keep certain records (such as payment history tied to a completed purchase) for legitimate business or legal reasons.
5. Cookies & Sessions
MakeMyQuiz uses a login token (JWT) stored in your browser to keep you signed in between visits — this is how the site recognizes you as logged in, similar to a session cookie. We don't use third-party tracking or advertising cookies.
